Serge

Serge is the director of the cooperative. The head of the board members of the organization.

Serge, originally a farmer, has been a board member of the cooperative since its launch. Although he does not speak much and looks like a difficult person to talk to, he is a kind man. He loves singing and dancing, and we went to a karaoke together.

What is the most important thing to manage in the cooperative?

“I want to make the cooperative sustainable. To achieve this, I don’t prioritize the expansion of the cooperative itself. Rather, I believe it is more important to motivate member farmers to keep doing good agriculture and to stay in the cooperative.”

How have you been doing for it?

“I put a great deal of effort into the education of young generations. The cooperative has an yearly scholarship program which sends around 10 young farmers to university. We expect them to learn agriculture deeply and then return with new knowledge to the cooperative.”

What motivates you?

“Well, I want to get more customers. We have a much higher capacity to provide good products. I want to develop our business to have more people around the world enjoying our products.”
