East and west, differences in architecture: west
As I described in the earlier article (“Brief introduction of Madagascar climate“), there are huge differences in the climate in Madagascar depends on locations – tropical climate in east part while drier savanna climate in west part. It causes different architectural style in east and west.
In the west part which is drier area, houses are usually built with mud or clay. There are villages of Sakarava on the way from Antananarivo to Morondava, where many simple houses with thatch roof and clay wall can be seen.
She kindly accepted my sudden request to show her room. Her lovely smile and clothes were impressive.
